Plumbing During a Pandemic

Here at Pride Plumbing of Rochester, we understand that things are changing daily with COVID-19 and we want to provide you with some proactive plumbing tips. We are all feeling uneasy during these unprecedented times, but your plumbing systems do not have to suffer!charlie taking care of emergency plumbing

  • Toilet paper is scarce, but do not let that ruin your plumbing
    • Do not flush anything other than toilet paper or tissues. Put any other items in the garbage, such as:
      • Paper towels
      • Baby wipes
      • Flushable wipes
      • Feminine products
  • Alternatives to toilet paper
    • Unfortunately, desperate times call for desperate measures.
    • Do not forget that there are materials in your home that can be used as an alternative to toilet paper, such as:
      • Bandanas
      • Old towels or shirts
      • Wash clothes
    • Much like cloth diapers, these toilet paper alternatives can be washed and reused.
  • Save money and water by turning off the tap while washing your hands
    • We are all washing our hands more consistently now, but that doesn’t have to mean more money down the drain.
    • Turning the tap off for the 20 seconds that you wash your hands could save you a lot of money!
